Thermocouple Coatings

ThermoCermet's thermocouple coatings of tungsten carbide are designed to withstand the distructive effects of temperature, pressure, velocity and corrosion typical of chemical, refinery, paper mill and other process industry applications.

Coating the thermocouple sheath with a thick layer of tungsten minimizes the carburization process, provides increased abrasion resistance and extends the life of the probe significantly.

The Process:
Using a plasma spray process, tungsten is applied to the thermocouple probe and built up to a 0.010" - 0.012" thickness, leaving a dense, strong barrier that can withstand temperatures up to 2200°C.

Typical Applications:
Vacuum furnaces, graphite furnaces, gas burners, ovens, nuclear power generating plants, exhaust gases, and high temperature process control applications.
